Is there anyone who served on the Superb Dec 51-Jan 54 who may know my father Gunner Fredrick William Ralph . He is alive and well aged 94 in Taupo New Zealand after serving 19 years in the RN he transferred to the RNZN in 1955 for another 20 years

thanks for your message re my dad SCG Fred Ralph. We left the UK in 1955 and dad transferred to the RNZN where he served for another 20 years making his total naval time 39 1/2 years. He finished as a Lt Cdr , Whilst he is frail now and hasn't much sight or hearing his mind is still good and he shares many naval ditties with us. He is in a rest home in Taupo along with Mum they are both 94 years old. On April 25th I will be wheeling him to the local cenetaph for our ANZAC day service which he attends every year. Lt.Cdr. Rtd. M.B.E. RNZN. On Anzac day 2016, peacefully at Wharerangi Rest Home, Taupo aged 95 years.
Dearly loved husband of Iris. Much loved Dad and father-in-law of Lynda and Bob, and Geoff and Elaine. Much loved Pop of Wayne and Jeannie, Michelle and Paul, Paul and Caroline, John and Jacqui, Michael, Di and Darren, Dan and Marian.
Adored Grand Pop of Anelies, Matthew, Mikayla, Amber, Indiya, Davis, Emily, Connor, Isabella and Tessa. A service to celebrate Fred's life will be held at the Founders Chapel of Remembrance, 117 Rickit Street Taupo, Friday 29th April 2016 at 2.00 pm. At Fred's request, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army Taupo, 2 Kiddle Drive, Taupo would be appreciated, or may be left at the service.
